Switzerland Tourist Visa for Indian Citizens

Primary Travel Documents

• Appointment Confirmation Letter: Official appointment booking sheet for VFS / Embassy.
• Application Form: Completed visa application form duly signed by the applicant.
• Valid National Passport: Issued within the last 10 years, with at least 6 months validity beyond scheduled return date, containing at least 2 blank pages. Handwritten passports or passports with observations regarding bio-data pages are not accepted.
• Passport Photocopies: Clear color copies of passport front (photo page) and back (address page).
• Flight Reservation: Confirmed round-trip flight itineraries showing full names of all travelers (+ proof of intra-Schengen flights if applicable).
• Proof of Accommodation: Confirmed hotel reservations, package tour vouchers, or advance payment receipts covering Switzerland & all Schengen states.
• Mandatory Travel Insurance: Minimum coverage of €30,000 / $50,000 USD / CHF 50,000 per person. Must cover repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, and emergency hospital treatment for the entire stay in Schengen territory.
• Covering Letter: Detailed cover letter stating travel purpose, dates, and complete day-by-day travel itinerary.
• Previous Passports & Visas: Previous passports bound together with rubber band (not stapled), along with copies of previous UK, USA, and Schengen visas.

Passport Photograph Specifications

• 2 Recent Photographs: Taken within the last 3 months.
• Dimensions: Size 35 mm to 40 mm in width, without border.
• Background & Quality: Plain white background, color photograph (not copied or scanned picture).
• Facial Image: Showing head and shoulders, with face covering 70%–80% of the image area.

Financial Proof & Bank Statement Validation

• Format & Verification: All financial documents must be original A4 prints, bearing the official stamp and signature of the issuing bank on every page.

Category-Specific Additional Requirements

A. For Employed Applicants:

• Personal Bank Statement for the last 6 months (stamped & signed by bank).
• Original NOC (No Objection Certificate) printed on company letterhead.
• Salary Slips for the last 6 months.
• Personal Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 2 years.

B. For Self-Employed / Business Owners:

• Covering letter printed on official company letterhead.
• Business / Visiting Card.
• Company & Personal bank statements for the last 6 months (stamped & signed by bank).
• Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 2 years.
• GST Certificate or Business Registration Proof.

C. If Travel is Sponsored:

• Sponsor's national ID proof (Passport / PAN Card / Resident Permit).
• Sponsor's updated bank statement for the last 6 months (stamped & signed).
• Sponsor's salary slips for the last 6 months.
• Sponsor's personal ITR for the last 2 years.

D. If Invitee is Available:

• Official Invitation Letter.
• Passport copy of invitee (front and back pages).
• Current status document of invitee (Visa or Resident Permit copy).
• Invitee FIN ID / National ID card.
• Invitee Occupation Proof (if available).

E. For Students:

• Clear copy of Student ID Card.
• Official Introduction / Leave letter from School, College, or University.
