Portugal Visitor Visa for Indian Citizens

1. Primary Travel Documents

• Completed Visa Application Form: Fully filled and signed by the applicant.
• Personal Covering Letter: Original letter with travel plan and purpose of visit. If the applicant is submitting applications for his/her family, all applications must include a copy of the covering letter.
• Flight Reservation: Confirmed round-trip flight booking showing travel dates and traveler details.
• Proof of Accommodation: Confirmed hotel bookings or proof of stay at host's residence covering the entire Schengen trip.
• Travel Insurance: Minimum coverage of €30,000 / $50,000 / 50,000 CHF per person covering repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, and emergency hospital treatment for the entire stay in Schengen territory.
• Valid National Passport: Issued within the last 10 years, with at least 6 months validity after the scheduled return, and with at least two blank pages. Handwritten passports and passports with observations regarding the front page (bio data) cannot be accepted.
• Photocopy of the Passport: Clear photocopy of the passport (Front & Back pages).
• Passport Size Pictures: Recent passport-size color photograph with white background not older than 3 months, showing head and shoulders with face covering 70–80% of the image (size 35–40 mm in width, not copied or scanned picture). Soft copy is required.
• Previous Passport(s): If any, bound together with a rubber band (not stapled). Photocopy of previous UK, USA, and Schengen visa copies.

2. Financial Documents

• Personal Bank Statement: Statement of the last 6 months with official stamp & signature from the bank.
• Personal Income Tax Returns: Personal ITR or tax documents of the last 3 years.

3. Invitee / Host Documents from Portugal

Documents provided by your family member, relative, or friend in Portugal:

• Invitation Letter: Formal invitation letter from the host stating relationship, purpose of visit, trip duration, and details of stay/financial support.
• Current Status Document: Valid Portuguese Residence Permit (Título de Residência), Portuguese Citizen Card (Cartão de Cidadão), or Portuguese passport copy.
• Bank Statement of Invitee: Host's bank statement for the last 6 months with official bank stamp.
• Address Proof in Portugal: Rental agreement, title deed (Escritura), or recent utility bill (electricity, water, gas) registered in the host's name.
• Occupation Proof: Proof of employment/occupation in Portugal (employment contract, pay slips, or business registration, if available).

4. Category-Specific Documents

A. For Employed Applicants:

• No Objection Certificate (NOC): Official NOC from the employer/company on company letterhead confirming sanctioned leave and dates.
• Salary Slips: Official salary slips of the last 6 months.

B. For Self-Employed / Business Owners:

• Covering Letter: Printed on official business letterhead.
• Business Card: Visiting card / business card of the applicant.
• Company Bank Statement: Company bank statement of the last 6 months with official stamp & signature from the bank.
• Business Registration Proof: GST Certificate, MSME/Udyam Registration, Certificate of Incorporation, or Partnership Deed.

C. For Retired Applicants:

• Retirement Certificate: Retirement certificate or pension approval letter.
• Pension Statements: Pension bank account statements of the last 6 months.
• Other Income Proof: Other income proof (if available, e.g. fixed deposits, rental agreements).

D. If Sponsored:

• Sponsor’s National ID Proof: Copy of Passport, PAN card, or Resident permit.
• Updated Bank Statement: Sponsor's bank statement of the last 6 months.
• Salary Slips: Sponsor's salary slips of the last 6 months.
• Personal Tax Documents: Sponsor's personal ITR or tax documents of the last 3 years.

E. If Student:

• Student ID Card: Copy of valid Student ID card from school, college, or university.
