Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to key questions about processing, requirements, and invitation documentation

How long does Germany Business Visa processing take?

Germany Business Visa processing typically takes 10 to 15 working days upon VFS document deposit after application submission or consulate interview. During major trade fair seasons (such as Medica, IFA, or Hannover Messe), appointment slots fill quickly, so we recommend applying 4 to 6 weeks in advance.

What are the mandatory requirements for an official business invitation letter from Germany?

The invitation letter must be issued on official company letterhead by the host company in Germany and signed by an authorized company representative. It must include the applicant's full name, designation, passport details, specific travel dates, agenda of business meetings, and state clearly whether the Indian company or the German host is bearing travel, accommodation, and medical expenses.

What is the fee for Germany Business Visa assistance?

The total fee for an adult applicant is ₹ 17,226, which includes the Embassy visa fee of ₹ 10,100 (approx. €90), mandatory VFS appointment charges of ₹ 2,126, and Trippovention comprehensive file preparation and verification charge of ₹ 5,000.

What documents are required if the business trip is company-sponsored?

If the Indian employer is sponsoring the trip, you must provide a formal sponsorship letter on corporate letterhead confirming financial liability, company registration proof (GST certificate / COI), 6 months updated company bank statement (stamped and signed on A4 paper), and company ITR acknowledgments for the last 3 years.

What are the strict bank statement and financial proof rules for Germany?

The German Embassy strictly mandates original personal and company bank statements for the last 6 months printed on format A4 paper, stamped and signed by the issuing bank on every page. Digital passbook screenshots, net-banking printouts without physical bank seal, or non-A4 format statements are rejected.

Can I travel to other Schengen countries on a Germany Business Visa?

Yes. A Germany Schengen Business Visa allows travel and business meetings across all 29 Schengen member countries, provided Germany is your primary destination where you spend the highest duration of your stay, or your initial point of entry into the Schengen zone.

Is personal appearance mandatory at the VFS Global Application Centre?

Yes, all applicants must appear in person at their scheduled VFS Germany Appointment Centre for biometric enrollment (fingerprint scanning and digital photograph), unless biometric data was captured for a previous Schengen visa within the past 59 months.
