FAQs:

  • Japan has a strict visa policy, requiring visitors to apply well in advance. Processing times vary by visa type and season, typically taking 7 to 10 working days.
  • If your Japan visa application is rejected, you must wait six months before reapplying. Reapplying sooner is discouraged as your circumstances likely remain unchanged, leading to another rejection.

  • You will receive an email notification once your decision is returned to the Visa Application Centre. You can also track your e-visa application status online using the Reference Number from the invoice/receipt provided by the Visa Application Centre, along with your last name.

  • The approval rate for Indian tourist visas to Japan is about 95%, but rejections can still be common due to Japan’s strict visa rules. Even a small mistake or missing document can lead to denial.

  • Proof of cash is crucial when applying for a Japanese visa. Simply having funds in your bank account isn’t sufficient; you must also demonstrate a reliable financial history to convince the Japanese Embassy or Consulate of your ability to cover your stay.
